That One Kids TV Show You Barely Remember
Over the last few months, I've noticed little things coming back. Whether it's my brain firing synapses that haven't been touched in a very long time or if it's that things from the past are becoming cool once more, I'm not entirely sure.
RETRO IS IN, I declare to nobody in particular.

From The Cave To The Heavens - Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2016)
Yeah, I saw Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. At this stage, a lot of people have seen it.
And a lot of people didn't like it.
No, I'm holding my punches there: a lot of people hated it, and have been spewing such horrible, affected vitriol in the general directions of this film that its making me question their fucking sanity. Because it's a film about fictional characters, and if you care that much about these characters and how they have been 'ruined' by this movie, then you don't really understand much about fiction or these characters.

Number Of The Beast - 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

Decadence On The 30th Floor - High Rise (2015)
Based on the book of the same name by JG Ballard, High-Rise is a project long in the making, finally brought to our screens by Ben Wheatley. This is easily the biggest project of Wheatley's career so far: the director behind Kill List, Sightseers and A Field In England, Wheatley has finally gotten his teeth into a much larger project (cast, budget, content, you name it.) He brought High-Rise to the ADIFF (Audi Dublin International Film Festival, for the uninitiated) and appeared for a Q&A after the screening.

Let's Talk About Cancer
Today, 4th February is World Cancer Day. So let's take some time away from movies and films and selfies and water charges and talk about cancer.
What's that? You don't want to talk about cancer?
Yeah, tough shit.

Questions For Writers: Post-Game With Claire C Riley
In a time before BRAVE GODS was a thing, I posted some interview with fellow writers. Having deleted my old site, I wanted to keep come of the content.
This interview with Claire C Riley is from back in 2013 and shortly after the publication of her first novel, Limerence. Claire has since published the sequel, the successful Odium series of books, and has recently started working closely with Madeline Sheehan.

Why I'm Not Giving You A Freebie
It's been a long time since I last did this blogging thing (for the purposes of brevity, we'll just call it "blogging.") The world has changed; blogging has changed. And the good news is, so have I.
I spent a lot of time writing about other people's work, reviewing other people's stories; I've always wanted to make my own, and being away from blogging and that side of things is what encouraged me to do just that.
That's right; I wrote a book.

Paranormally Active - Paranormal Activity (2009)
Few films have experienced the frenzied internet marketing hype that Paranormal Activity has received in the last few months: sure, this year has also given us the phenomenal trailer to Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus (a far better experience than the film) and Neill Blomkamp’s debut feature District 9 proved that aliens could still rake in the cash at the box office. But the effortless success that Paranormal Activity has had in the US has kept the film riding high in terms of takings and hype. It’s even been a consistently trending topic on Twitter since even before its release.

In Space. Screaming. Yadayadayada - Pandorum (2009)
Horror movies set in space are always a bit hit-or-miss: for every Alien, there's a Jason X, and a hell of a lot more in between. Pandorum, a US/German co-production from director Christian Alvart, might have a trailer that tries to sell it down the Alien-route, but having watched the film, you might be left wondering if you have to re-evaluate your opinions on what makes a bad horror-in-space film.
